About Dema Artist
Dema Artist is the artistic identity of Vasiliki Demeter Kailoglou, a visual artist and independent researcher based in Athens, Greece.
Her practice moves between contemporary visual art, installation, symbolic systems and research-led experimentation. She is interested in images not only as representations, but as active structures that can organize meaning, perception and speculative worlds.
Artistic practice
Dema Artist develops work around visual research, operative images, speculative futures, consciousness, symbolism and the relationship between art and systems of knowledge. Her projects include installation-based work, conceptual assemblage and research texts that connect artistic practice with philosophy, technology and the study of anomalous or liminal experience.
Selected projects
MGDE — Matrix Global Domino Effect examines transmission, perception and interconnected systems through an installation language of found and assembled materials.
Operative Images is an ongoing research direction exploring images as symbolic and functional structures rather than purely decorative objects.
Research identity
Alongside her artistic practice, Dema Artist works independently on research questions concerning visual culture, symbolism, speculative thought, paranormal narratives as cultural material, and the meeting point between artistic method and inquiry.
