The Portable Homeland

Η Φορητή Πατρίδα
DEMA

Η Φορητή Πατρίδα — The Portable Homeland considers the body as an archive of displacement. Materials become traces of origin, temporary roots and remembered places carried from one environment to another.

The work asks whether home is only geographical or whether it can survive as a portable structure of memory, symbols and attachment. Its anthropomorphic form turns migration and belonging into a bodily condition.

Within Dema’s practice, the piece connects personal memory with a broader investigation of matter as a vessel for meaning.
